We need another search engine

While Wall Street may not agree, the reality is that we live in a world with just one search engine: Google. Yahoo, MSN, Live, and all the other so-called search engines are such a waste of time and money. In fact, if I were a dictator, I would shut all of them down, except for Technorati (which is fighting a losing battle against spammers but may survive). In fact I am convinced that bad search engines like MSN and Yahoo are impeding the growth of Web 2.0. And as long as they are around, they will make it difficult for other search engines to emerge.

So it was with a lot of hope that I checked out Sphere – supposedly another search engine for blogs. Oh, what a disappointment. Not only could I find my blog (which ranks pretty high on all search engines) but I also could not find any of the blogs of my friends. It seems that the company went live earlier than planned and that is why so many bugs. Maybe another addition to my list to which I added MotionMall today.
