Will luxury airlines survive?
Previously I had mentioned how a new set of luxury airlines like MAXjet Airways were pursuing a new business model. Apparently, Max Jet simply could not compete with other similar airlines as well American Airlines, which decided to hit them directly.
The airline sector is a tough one to compete and competitiveness is a temporary advantage. It seems that other similar airlines (Eos, Silverjet and l’Avion) are thriving so I am assuming that this is simply the case of the worst player being thrown out of the market due to a poorly executed business model.
We have also seen with the case of discount airlines that when legacy airlines tried to duplicate their success, they either couldn’t or didn’t do as good a job.
My expectation is that despite all the challenges or running an airline, other airlines will thrive.
