Web video advertising
I had reviewed earlier several video advertising options for publishers and have some updates. On our network of websites we aggressively promoted Google Video Units but it seems that viewers are simply not interested in Google’s approach. Due to extremely low CTR and accordingly eCPM, we decided to retire them and replace them with regular AdSense ads that perform extremely well for us (despite the declining advertising rates in general).
Having said that a new report says that some of the high traffic websites charge all the way from $10 to $90 CPM. What it means is that in general you will need to spend in single digits but if you want to be WSJ.com or MySpace.com, be prepared to pay a lot more.
