How to target children with advertising?
Lorena and I were discussing today if it is possible to raise children without ever bringing them to McDonald’s. She informed me that one of her girlfriends (who also happens to live in a town that does not have a McDonald’s), who has 3 daughters, has never even given them a taste of fast food. They are normal people, not health fanatics, but believe that fast food is simply not healthy for anyone, particularly their children. Both parents work and their children watch as much television as any other kids.
The sad news is that a latest study finds that children as young as two recognize the brand and find the food packaged by the company more delicious than the same food without the package. What a great marketing story but what tragic results for the society! I guess the weight loss industry will always be in a boom.
