So you can’t trust your doctors or your hospital or any drug company. What a sad situation and how disappointed I am that this is all being done in the name of business.

We now have even more solid evidence obtained by The New York Times why a consumer simply cannot trust his doctor. Amgen (the maker of Aranesp and Epogen) and Johnson & Johnson (the maker of Procrit) have been literally “bribing” doctors to prescribe these anemia drugs to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars (the combined sales of these drugs are $10 billion). It would not be such a serious issue if these drugs were actually helping people. On the contrary, there is no evidence that these drugs did any good at all. And listen to this one, according to several studies, they may actually lead to premature death. In other words, it is like how Merck and Pfizer were marketing Vioxx, Bextra, and Celebrex.
